The 2025 Highland Lakes Quilt Festival
The Highland Lakes Quilt Guild is set to host its 2025 Quilt Festival, marking the guild’s 25th Silver Anniversary. This milestone event is scheduled for April 25 and 26, 2025, at the Burnet Community Center, located at 401 E Jackson St, Burnet, TX 78611.
Event Highlights
The festival promises a rich array of activities and exhibits tailored for quilting enthusiasts and the general public alike:
• Quilt Displays: Attendees can expect to see over 100 exquisite quilts, showcasing a diverse range of styles and techniques.
• Guild Boutique: A selection of handcrafted items and quilting supplies will be available for purchase, offering unique finds for visitors.
• Silent Auction: Guests can participate in bidding on various items, with proceeds supporting the guild’s initiatives.
• Vendor Booths: A variety of vendors will be present, providing quilting materials, fabrics, patterns, and more.
• Donation Quilt – “Tranquility”: A highlight of the festival is the donation quilt named “Tranquility.” This queen-sized quilt (88”x88”) draws inspiration from biblical stories, featuring blocks such as Solomon’s Puzzle, Job’s Tears, Joseph’s Coat, and the Garden of Eden. The centerpiece is the Tree of Life, adorned with intricate borders of dainty flowers and stems, reflecting the Rose of Sharon pattern. Crafted by thirty skilled guild members over approximately 1,200 hours, and quilted by member Leslie Sparks, “Tranquility” exemplifies dedication and artistry. Raffle tickets for a chance to win this masterpiece can be purchased at monthly guild meetings, with the winner announced during the festival. The winner need not be present to claim the prize.
